California's AB 2716, the "Healthy Families, Healthy Workplaces Act" is currently in the Sentate Appropriations Committee. What is this bill? Well employers, be prepared to mandatorily give your employees 5 sick days if you have less than 10 employees, and 9 sick days if you have 10 or more employees.

Oh and, if you currently have a PTO system in place that provides for any type of time away from work, it doesn't matter. You'll have to offer sick pay too!
